EAQ, Team EAQ, Division Parameter & Parameter Plus 20;
Descriptions & Applications
Extended Average Quality (EAQ);
Quality is shooting, in one turn of three darts, 95 points or more in the Ladies League. In the Mixed League quality is 100 points or more in the same turn. There are five games to earn quality in; 310 EI/EO, count up, 501 EI/EO, 701 EI/DO and 301 DI/DO. On a four player team each player plays in all five games so their EAQ is the actual total quality they shot during that match. On five or six player teams the total quality of any player that played in less than five of the quality games is extended as if they had played all five games. A player acquires their current EAQ upon the completion of their third match.
Team EAQ is the combined EAQ of the four players with the highest EAQ that comprise a legal team. In the Ladies League it will be the four highest. In the Mixed League it will also be the four highest but must include at least one player of each gender. Team EAQ is used to place teams in their respective divisions at the beginning of each season and to set the Division Parameter.
Teams comprised of all players with an established EAQ from the previous season will not be monitored for player penalties and there is no limit to the quality they may shoot.
The Division Parameter is established by the highest team EAQ in each division. The Division Parameter is used to determine the eligibility of new members and/or substitutes that have established an EAQ from the previous or current season. When the new member/substitute is to play in the Mixed League then use the EAQ from the previous season's Mixed League if available and from the Ladies League as a second choice. When the applicant is to play in the Ladies League then use the EAQ from the previous season's Ladies League when available and from the Mixed League as a second choice. The same choices apply when computing the eligibility of a prospective player that did not play the previous season but has a current EAQ.
The EAQ of the prospective player is added to the EAQ of the other three players with the highest EAQ that comprise a legal team. When the total is equal to or less than the Division Parameter then the player is eligible to sign on as a new member or substitute and they will not be monitored for player penalties. When the sum is greater than the Division Parameter then the prospective player is not eligible and can not be used.
The EAQ of the other three players is as follows; From the Division Roster when the player has an EAQ from the previous season, current EAQ (as listed on the previous weeks standing sheet) for new members. When the new member has not yet established a current EAQ then use the EAQ from the Division Roster. When faced with conditions not explained then contact your Division Director for help determining the eligibility of the prospective player.
Parameter Plus 20;
The Parameter Plus 20 is the Division Parameter plus a twenty percent allowance for player improvement.
The Parameter Plus 20 comes into effect when using new members and/or substitutes that have no EAQ from the previous season. New members are allowed to shoot extended quality of 25% higher than the average quality listed on the Division Roster that was supplied by the Team Captain, otherwise all new members are treated as substitutes for the entire season regarding player penalties. All substitutes will be monitored for player penalties which come into effect when the current highest EAQ of the other three players (that comprise a legal team with the substitute) plus the extended quality of the substitute exceeds the Parameter Plus 20. One penalty point will be issued for each 100 points (or part of) above the Parameter Plus 20.
Both new members and substitutes are allowed a certain number of qualities in one match without review for player penalties;
One quality in L4, C1 and C2 Divisions.
Two qualities in L2, L3, B1, and B2 Divisions.
Three qualities in the A2 Division.
